Belmont Neighborhood

Challenge

The Belmont neighborhood located within Charlotte had a number of problems. Most importantly, their name recognition was low due to the nearby town of Belmont, NC. In addition to that, those who did know of the neighborhood focused on its potential for real estate and knew little else of the community. Belmont was an affordable community just outside of Uptown that had long gone unnoticed, however, it was becoming more diverse and eclectic as new residents moved in. The city revitalization plan also helped improve the neighborhood by beautifying it and making it more pedestrian friendly. Although those living in Belmont realized this, few others in the Charlotte area did.

Solution

1310 Studios created a simple yet powerful brand for the Belmont Neighborhood that separated it from the logos of other charlotte neighborhoods with a modern typeface and unique icon. The tagline under Belmont is simply Charlotte, NC reinforcing the fact that Belmont is a neighborhood within the city of Charlotte. The logo is something we hope will be used on street banners, bumper stickers, t-shirts and more as we begin to implement it in the coming years. 1310 Studios redesigned the existing Belmont web site to promote family, community, diversity and growth - the key features that make Belmont unique within Charlotte. We also included useful information on surrounding schools, churches, entertainment areas and more. Future plans to make the website an even greater community resource include implementing a management system for neighborhood board members to contribute content & creating user forums for the public.
