Challenge

Furniture Rentals had a website that was showing its age. It was designed for a much smaller browser size than the standard today and was outdated graphically. The site also had no visual interest from page to page and the furniture photography were using was small in scale. In addition to this, the site was also extremely poorly optimized, using almost all images and no text and not sharing duplicate images across pages. This made most of the content invisible to search engines and screen readers for the visually impaired. It also caused longer load times than necessary.

Solution

1310 Studios started the website project from scratch, creating a home page with furniture & lifestyle imagery with a main message that grabbed your attention. A neutral warm color pallette was used with punches of red-orange and the company’s trademark navy blue. The furniture section of the site used its own unique layout which utilized different graphics and photography from page to page. Classic serif fonts were used to set the company’s core message of superior customer service. The website was user-friendly, accessible and had the professional look Furniture Rentals needed to challenge competitors.
