Pickles & Ice Cream is a maternity wear company based in the southeast that was in need of a national ad campaign promoting their large selection of clothes and styles. They wanted a fresher, more modern look but needed to leverage existing photography to stay within budget. Their prior campaigns were heavily conservative and didn’t show off the fashion forward maternity clothes in a way that inspired. Pickles & Ice Cream had seen 1310’s edgy, colorful work for Anya and were looking for something with more punch that was still conservative enough for their audience.
1310 Studios leveraged their existing photography in a new way by removing the backgrounds and focusing on just the model. This allowed for these assets to be used in a fresh way. A single outfit was the focus for each ad in the series with additional clothes included in secondary elements. This allowed for the ads to have a much greater impact. The visual style used colorful backgrounds & silhouette accents that shifted hue from ad to ad. A badge element was created for their continued message - Crave the Clothes - allowing for a new headline and tagline to add some freshness to the new campaign. Emphasizing their vast selection of clothing, “The Possibilities Are Endless” was chosen as the main message and a cheeky message in spirit with the company brand was used as a secondary tagline - “What Baby Wants, Baby Gets.” The campaign was so successful that we’ll be starting on another ad campaign in the coming months.
