Small Hands Big Art

The logo is at once modern, friendly & fun, utilizing a clever icon that gets attention.

Challenge

Small Hands Big Art is a new children’s art studio that was entering the Charlotte market and needed a brand and website to generate awareness. They also needed their brand to separate them from existing direct competitors. The goal was to appeal to parents of children between the ages of 2 and 14 living in the area, especially those seeking to expose their children to a unique, arts enrichment experience. Small Hands Big Art needed to be seen as an opportunity to offer children a fun valuable experience that helps foster creativity. They wanted their logo to speak directly to parents and avoid the primary colors and kid handwriting features of so many competitors.

Solution

1310 Studios created a distinctly powerful brand for Small Hands Big Art with a tone that was contemporary, modern and yet fun. The logo appealed directly to parents while also having a visual reference that said “kids.” The creation of a bird from the classic shape of an artist’s palette is both clever and playful and creates a signature icon that is at once memorable. While the logo has cheery quality its fonts and flat colors keep it modern with a level of sophistication that will appeal to adults. This logo captures the heart of Small Hands Big Art’s brand - unique creative and modern in both concept and execution. It makes Small Hands Big Art a studio that is easily identifiable with an immediate visual message that communicates art, fun and children.

Small Hands Big Art’s website mixed custom icon work with a friendly palette to create a site that was fun and modern. 1310 Studios created the website using the latest coding techniques to keep the pages dynamic and loading quickly. WordPress was integrated to allow Small Hands Big Art to update content from a simple admin system and keep the site fresh in the years to come. A form system was used to allow secure registration for classes and an easy payment process for Gift Cards and other items. An e-newsletter feature enables Small Hands Big Art to manage client information and send out periodic news and specials in an easy and effective way. The result is a great looking website with a full feature set that allows it to remain fresh, grow and be used as an ongoing marketing tool.
