Troyers

A focus on their Amish roots helped Troyer's stand out among their competitors.

Challenge

Troyere’s Wholesome Foods had been providing their signature amish whole wheat pancake mix to restaurants for years. They were ready to move onto selling it to grocers for retail and directly to consumers. Their existing packaging was a simple clear bag and with instructions. They needed a fully realized brand and website to be competitive in these new markets. Troyer’s also needed to separate themselves from existing brands in the growing health foods and organic foods market.

Solution

1310 Studios started by solidifying the brand position with Troyer’s Wholesome Foods. To differentiate themselves from competitors within the organic foods industry, we focused on Troyer’s Amish roots in addition to their healthy and natural product. The final logo was a crest that focused on a classic Amish buggy and incorporated countryside fields and wheat as well. The website was created to further the branding effort, using imagery of pancakes and earthy colors and textures. A section all about Amish history helped drive home Troyer’s point of difference among competitors. Humorous text and marketing headlines made the content fun and approachable in addition to being informative. Flash animation and a flash gallery added visual interest, helping to create a powerful first impression to potential customers.
